hello just fitted and new cams sensor i ordered and it has improoved (but not fixed) an issue im talking about in another thread. (effort starting)

the one i originally had fitted used a 10mm bolt through a 10mm bolt hole. the newer one i got has a 13mm bolt hole but i was still able to use the 10mm bolt to secure it.

alls well (well better than before) and it has stopped my non fireing for a few seconds when cranking over.

making me think the rest of the issue is an unrelated fueling problem.

or is it? would this difference in bolt hole size indicate a difference in the sensors functions/capabilities
and this sensor is still the remaining half of my problem?

thanks again for the advice in advance

p.s. heres the ebay listing of the ittem if it helps http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141002929506?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 it doesnt say for 306 gti6 specifically but it does specify my engine code.....i think

It's the wrong sensor. That one is for the 1.8 16v engine.

You want Peugeot part 1920 L1 for a GTi-6.

oh dear......:S

its working......:S

comparitvely the probe size and function seem identical. just the fixing point changes between the two.

sorry to be a ass (as usual) but do you know for sure or by experience that this sensor isnt as good(will cause problems) as the one i should of bought?

it cost 15 quid and if the only differnece is the fixing point (but it still fits "correctly" )
wouldnt it be a good shout/tip if someone want to replace the cam sensor on the cheap?

thanks for you help n patience

same geezer but for some reason hes doubled the price now to £30 :S

if you copy n paste t'other link in my OP youll see the original price.

im still to do an ecu reset on this new sensor, any chance the ecu learned incorrect values from the old knackered sensor and its playing up that way?

not exactly.

just becuase it was cheaper.......and meant for another car.....that means its inferior quality?

i get your point, however its a womans point of view

and the exact reason AVON exploited to stop itself from going under.

upped the price (and nothing else) because women mistakenly associate monetary value with quality.
