Yesterday l mapped my 2.0 Mi16 engine fitted with gsxr 46mm bodies with at least 400mm inlet lenght, 264deg 9.6lift inlet and exhaust cam 11.1 comp, Miles 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and no cat, and a DTA s40 ecu. The resault was 171hp and 201nm @ the wheels.

At the same time a newbuilt 2.4l air cooled vw rallye engine (built by a vw spesialist here in Norway) was on the dyno and it produced 170hp and 186nm @ the wheels. The mapper and the VW guy was very impressed of the MI16 engine.

My only concern is that my engine burning some oil. lts honed and with new rings, and new oil stem seals, but not new guides. The comp is about 210-220 on all cylinders. What can make it burn oil?

Sounds like poorly bedded in rings, if its glazed you may need a re-hone and new rings.

Engine needs to start an be put under reasonae load almost immediately if new rings are to seat properly.

Not necessarily, if the oil film is making up some of the gap and that's why it's burning the oil.
