Nothing special actually. I used a regular BX wiper motor with it's bracket modified. If you are handy with tools you can make it fit. (btw. mine is a Xsara, so the wiper area maybe different from what you have, and I did mine purely for weight saving, and not for aesthetics, but with a bit of OCD you can even make it pretty, eventhough nobody will ever see it under the plastic trim.

i bought a wiper kit which was nie on useless off of ebay. it gave minimal coverage 100 degree arc max. and not a central wiper pivot point. not happy

i ended up chucking a wobbly at them and they sent me a vast array or differnt lenght rotor and wiper arms. the long adjustable linkage they sent was crap (knocked the scuttle panle etc)

i then ended up making my own extended linkage out of two of the original arms cut up, rivited together and bent so it wouldnt rub on anything.

the central mounting point was a c**t, once again i used an original part cut up to hold the pivot point of the wiper centrally. you attach it to the passengers side bolt hole (with the original bolt) and have to cut away the other driver side bolt hole so you can weld/rivit your modded joint housing to it.

you should make sure to attach it securly with a weld/rivit, or youll end up with a wobbly pivot.

i then spent a few hours experimenting and tweaking swapping the various sized arms over and bending the long linkage to perfection, to get the best coverage

then you have to find a larger wiper blade that will cover as much of your windscreen as possible.

you also have to plug your old scuttle pan holes with some bungs and drill/dremmel a new one for your central wiper to poke out of.

i ended up with about a 165-170 degree arc and a fair 75-80% coverage

for extra gayness i also mounted my wiper jets onto my wiper blade.

all in all it looked pretty good, and should do for the time i spent on it

sadly i crashed that car, but i do have the parts i made off of it. if you want i can do a few pics and measurements so you and other people can have a go?

i also plan on fitting it to my new gti eventually (after mot) so i could do my first FAQ worthy article if people are interested?

When you have a cage that goes to the suspension turrets there's no room for the original motor

My money was on jimmyhackers making one from a RC car servo so it was wireless to operate from your lap.
