Hi guys I'm new to the forum and on the look out for my first 6. One of probably many questions, but is there a problem with air con on these cars? It seems most don't work or owners disconnect it for some reason?

Cheers,Paul.

Long pipe breaks/corrodes and it's expensive to replace. Not the end of the world not having it apart from the last 2 weeks where we've had a summer.

Removal is for the idiots that think it'll go really fast if removed due to saving weight.

Well you say that, but Rallye owners babble on feeling the difference all the time and if you remove the ac you are half way there!

I've had both and didn't notice performance difference nor fuel economy difference.

But as I currently own a Rallye, aircon is for gays.... we don't need it in this country.... 6 hours of sunshine a year doesn't matter when my car is 100kg lighter

Just been on a 300 mile road trip (600 miles return). Had to drive with the windows open on Sat as no longer used to "hot" (actually on the warm side of mild) weather any more as it has been wet, cold and miserable for the last 2 years so 30 deg C feels redders now.

My wife pointed out how nice it was of her to let me take the Rallye when we could have been in the Focus with the air con on full blast all the way.
