Hi guys I have just brought some up rated camshafts for the six, and what I need help with is

Am more than happy to change the timing belt and kit , but I have not changed camshafts before and what I want to know is , could there be a chance the camshaft could spin when I slacken the. Timing camshaft pulley bolt?

Cheers mike

What are the cam's? I take it you have seen what happens if you don't do a dry build with anything with any decent lift

The cams can 'spring' forwards/backwards when you remove the timing pins as when you pin them up they are on 'rock'. Yes

When the tension is taken off the camshaft, i.e. you remove them the valves will shut.

Personally, I would time the exhaust one first, but that's simply because it's he more difficult one to get to as it's at the back. Thumbs up

As there not much real intrest in my cams , am going to fit these within the next month. Is there a chance I could bend the valves when re timing it?

Yes

If you're not sure what you're doing as Chris says then it's best to pay somebody to do it for you. Thumbs up
