Hello lads, in my 306 1.4 I just noticed something, so want to know if its ok or am doomed, after everything, right my problem is this I was driving the car yesterday, and when I got home I saw dripping from the expansion hose on the radiator, I had been sitting in the 5pm traffic at standstill, and normally the temperature rises, then as I drive it comes back down to 70, when the car cooled down I opened the cap to find only abit of coolant left, so I filled it up with coolant again and started it as the temperature got to 80-85 the expansion hose started to drip again, this morning I filled it up again just a bit as it dropped out the expansion hose last night, drove it this morning and the temperature stayed at round 70, I also had the car jacked up yesterday, and normally when I lift one side of the car up coolant does drip from the expansion hose, could it have been the case of me not spotting the dripping when it was jacked up, don't know just need to put my mind at rest what it could, when its driving the temperature stays at around 70 when it's at stand still it rises and as you drive it cools down back to 70,any advise I'd appriciate

The cap should twist a full 180 but its kind of close to the slam panel so sometimes people twist it halfway to avoid pinching their fingers.

The cap holds the pressure, if the pressure gets higher than the rating for the cap it allows the coolant to bypass and release through the hose.

If the cap is faulty, it will cause a leak at the hose. Yes

Coolant in oil (Mayo in oil filler), Oil in coolant, Steam/white smoke on start up, Misfiring, coolant still pressurised a good few of hours after a run.
