I was just a about to buy a 3 but that's a good price. I like the idea on a 3 being able to turn on and off with a controller or app which saves climbing over the cage or whatever to turn it on

How does that Surf version compare to the Motorsport version? I'd imagine it's obviously more water resistant - but does it compromise on sound for example?

It's a good price!

The only difference is the mounting kit you get in the box - suckers and arms and whatnot. The camera and the sealed plastic case are the same.

The sound is pretty abysmal from these - you're best off getting an external microphone off the bay for a fiver and drilling a hole in a spare plastic case.

You can do that with the GP2, you just need to buy the wifi bacpac

I'd probably just buy a roll cage mount and be done with it.

I'd have no need for any sports attachements as such - although a sucker or 2 for placing it on windows could be useful perhaps.

£204 for a 3. Hmm Is that from a reputable seller within the UK Ash?

I've just bought a 3 silver edition from eBay for £197 delivered.
Came after a couple of days and with the skeleton back door fitted the sound quality is fairly decent.

I agree, my next one will be a 3, however be aware the Silver 3 is almost identical to the 2 in terms of image quality and sound.

my mate has the 3 and it's brilliant, quality is fantastic. just told him about this gopro2 offer and he said get the 3 if you can afford it. also you can get 2 and pair them with a ribbon cable and record in 3d

his ended up about £400 with the mount and whatnot, plus a huge memory card

I'll most likely go all out and get the black. Rather have a better camera for my California holiday in a mustang!

Have you got any examples of in car vids with a DSLR? Every vid I have done with mine turns out jurky when ever the camera is moved so thought it would be worse in a bumpy track car.

    Unless I'm doing something wrong.

I'm wanting a gopro instead for track but seems a waste having two cameras!

And they use a go pro for some of the outside car action shots - you cant half tell the difference!!!

The gopro 2 with external mic aint a bad shout for an amateur camera

GoPro2 is totally fine unless you're producing it for TV or HQ video stream.

GP3 is mint though, the way it handles exposure changes is fantastic

Just bare camera with a couple of sticky mounts, i didn't think the 3's came as the motorsport edition only the 2's.
I bought the roll cage mount seperately for around £18 delivered, then a few spare pivot arms as i wanted to try and move the camera lower from the roll cage.
