Thanks Brian.

Good to see you're still about Thumbs up

Just and no more, I was about to make the move away from Peugeot for a while and try something German and fast but I bought a 208 GTi instead. Sadly I no longer have the time to look after the old pugs so I think yer old Blue Miami may have a new owner tomorrow...I'm selling the goodwood too but I can't bring myself to write the advert!

back to my mi16 Razz

good progress in the last couple of days Smile

i managed to source a full genuine exhaust system. so while the subframe was off, i decided to make use of the access

old vs new downpipe

new downpipe on

next was the job of cambelt and waterpump. not the best condition waterpump

or cambelt tensioners

after sorting cambelt etc, i decided to change the plugs and leads for genuine new items

old vs new spark plug

then, after building up the subframe by fitting steering rack, i fitted the rebuilt wishbones, and refitted back onto car

also fitted my new metal brakelines for the front end of the car

and also removed old seam sealer off chassis rails, and re-applied with fresh

tomorrow i will be building up these

hopefully before i'm back in work wednesday, i will have the sruts on the car, and the front end finished. then work will commence on the back end.
fuel tank off. axle off and stripped for a rebuild, and fit all new metal brakelines to the rear

more progress Big grin

rain has stopped play at the moment. but at least it gives me a reason to nip to a main dealer in anglesey, who has some NLA parts for me Smile

so yesterday this how i got on.

new strut top kits, eibachs and struts with cleaned up hubs. i would just like to say i had a nightmare removing the old balljoints from the hubs! but as i have quite a well equipped garage it made the job easier

got the new flexis fastened up to the metal lines

struts on, and new discs fitted

new calipers ready to fit. was just waiting for paint to dry on the yokes before fitting new rubbers and regreasing slider bolts

when i bought the car, it had the original dealer plates. sadly the front plate was broke Sad

so i sent the damaged plate to dmbgraphics, who scanned the plate, and supplied me with new plates

Looking great, I used dmb for my replacement plates for the escort, even managed to do me a tax disc holder and a dealer rear window sticker, quality firm.

coming along nicely now Big grin

got the calipers on, driveshafts in and torqued all nuts and bolts to spec

i didn't have a 21mm 90 degree spanner to tighten nut on strut, so improvised using a custom made deep socket, which allowed me to get an allen key in

these are the old wheels

which have been sent away for refurb Wink

when i bought the car, there was an issue with the aftermarket alarm that was fitted. when the car was running the siren made a intermittent beep, which i needed to sort.

out with the alarm wiring

also decided to lose some other excess weight

Surprised you don't have a windy gun you could have used to nip the shock nuts up with to stop them spinning.

so today, i have done quite a bit more.

i bought the car with half a key stuck in the ignition. so i invested in a full ignition and lock set.

i had already fitted the new ignition, so set about replacing the door locks.

also for some bizarre reason, the inside of the drivers door window had deep scratches

i managed to source a replacement window from a guy i usually use to replace screens. to my surprise, the window came with peugeot emblem Big grin

    all for £35

on removal of the steering wheel shroud, i found someone had previously bodged where they fasten together

unfortuneatly, i only had a decent grey replacement

so i rubbed the combined shroud down with scotch pad and applied some magic paint

very happy with the finish, and will refit tomorrow Thumbs up

i also recieved a new powersteering pump in the post, and i had my refurbed wheels back. both which i will fit tomorrow. along with a genuine and brand new steering wheel i managed to source.

everything seems to be going well, and am very happy to see the car progress

Wow, back in the day the steering wheels were worth about £350 what did you manage to get it for?

    Cheers, Carl
