Well the time has come to let it go.

I've got myself a Leon Reference Sport and my Rallye days are over.

I need to find a good home for my Rallye.
it's been a superb car but it needs an owner who's enthusiastic and will keep it right.

what do you think?
98k miles
due a service (new cambelt kit, pump and Rich W crank pulley in the boot)
due rear brake overhaul
all standard apart from air filter and stainless exhaust.

still goes strong and 70% of the miles on it were done on the M1-M6.
i'd probably let it go to a good home for £1000 I think.

it's sitting in the car park where I work, insured and taxed doing nowt.
should I sell it on here?
who'd like to give it a home?

very low mileage for age.

oh, there's a spare driver door and a set of new arch liners to go with it too.

if it was to keep you out of a beema for a couple of months it has to be worth it.....right? ;-)

body is straight and true.
scuff to rear bumper and rear quarter (bad parking by neighbour)
front bumper, crack in splitter, visible if you know to look for it.
driver seat wear as expected (but not the back bolster wierdly)
one spot of laquer blister on roof, just appeared last month.
rust on bottom seam of driver door (hence the spare door :-) )

i think the valve seals need overhauling but have driven it this way for 60,000 miles. uses a little oil from cold and then settles.

i could go on all day but this isn't the for sale section.

i'd love the car to go to an owner who'd use it well, even if it was adonor car for a project (cherry rallye ideally)

cheers matey.
I loved that white 6. that was like a toy car to look at. dead cute with white superturismos.
I can't believe I sold that one to get a Mazda 6 estate.
aaarrgh.
I think i sold that mazda and got this rallye within a year.
i bought this one for nearly 4 grand because it had such low mileage nearly four years back.

The Leon is great btw.
I'm going to get down to work this week and clean out the Rallye ready to pass it on.
I need to retrieve some sound gear from it to put in my new Spanish/German beast.

I do miss the 'feel' of the Rallye though, with its instant throttle response, great turn in (better than a six but let's not go down that road ;-) ) and compact, light sheer fun factor.
derv turbo lag takes some getting used to again.

Now sold to a nice chap from Leamington.
it was lovely to take the little beast out for a final blatt!!
Sure am going to miss it. A whole world away from a modern VAG motor and loads more fun.
