Hello!
I will be looking to change the nearside inner tie rod this weekend and I've noticed on the new part there is no hex for a spanner.
Is there enough room down there to put a set of mulgrips on it?
Thanks in advance.

What brand did you buy?

Ive just had inner and outer tie rod/ends fitted, they were lemforder and had the hex part of the shaft on for easy removal.

I wouldn't have thought there was much room down there.

Chance it could be seized too so goodluck

Delphi, looks pretty good quality mind you. I'll be using something called gas plus to break the thread free its far better than WD40.

as its all sealed under a boot I have yet to have the inner thread seize, they wind out by hand after the initial loosening.

Take the wishbone off and it's a piece of p**s after that. I lay under mine for half an hour trying to do it with the wishbone in place (using a small set of stilsons), took the wishbone off and it was done ten minutes later!!

big set of vice/mole grips is my weapon of choice, they aren't that tight, don't have to take lower arm off but does help a bit, i usually put a dab of Loctite on the threads when fitting new one.
