Hi guys I have recently had a a new cultch, fork arm, clutch cable before the I had all this done the clutch height was fine.

I have also noticed the gearbox is very 'notchy'going between most gears

Gearbox side of things I have change over the miles gear linkage and new gearbox oil.

And advice much appreciated

make sure its the right oil and its still in there.

what you perceived to be "fine" and is now different with all new parts, may well not be fine whatsoever Wink

The old clutch height was great I expected the new one to be the same, I do beleive the right oil was used.

What would make the clutch sit further up that the rest of the pedals?

Do you mean the 'bite' point is higher than before or the actual pedal sits higher than before when it's not being used?

Stan the pedal is much higher up, and they is a good 2inch of travel until I even get to biting point maybe more.

I don't now what clutch they used but was told is was valeo

Sounds like either the new fork arm or more likely, the cable is incorrect.

It does sound like the cable, especially if there's a couple of inches of free play before it engages...

We(me and carl chambers) put a new cable on it a few weeks back It has helped in the sense its less stiffer but the travel is the same .is they anywhere on the fork arm could be stopping can be causeing this?

Also could the pedal its self of be inadvertently moved up or would of the auto adjuster sorted that.
Heard they is a spring somewhere I could check ?

May have a good old go at pumping the crap out the clutch maybe they the auto adjuster can re adjust?

Also in higher gears and high reved gear changes its fine.

Carl helped me so they no chances we did it wrong Smile

I stupidly got the clutch done by a family friend near me at a time where I had little money and a very short time scale, I now have well and truly learned my lessons on the people who I trust with my car

so thinking along the lines of miss a lining the clutch? s**t clutch? Obviously changing the clutch over is my very last option but it doesn't slip just the biting point and the pedal height is way off normal.

the pin in the arm are ok its not slipped round get jammed in a s**t postion ?
Maybe the clutch is wrong full stop you got a receipt for parts if your mate brought the bits ?

Today I actaully pump the s**t out of the clutch before I when for a drive it felt a little better but I did have my running/gym trainers on so which a fairly padded.

Here a picture of the clutch pedal height






I'll dig out the receipt later today

After pumping it,it did feel better and driving in surportive footwear with pretty of cushioning did take away from the harshest of it.
