Thought id start a thread on how much my car cost me this month and what has f**ked up for me

So this April.

New battery.
New heater matrix along with a new wing mirror... some how a hammer knocked it Whistle
Road tax for the year
A new exhaust as it decided to fall apart on the A34
on the way home i had a clicking sound coming from the dash so iv got to hunt for a new stalk
Iv paid more than the car is worth this month.

Happy motoring.

I've done 18k in my six over the last 12 months, and the only thing it's had is a new set of tyres.

(Yes, a GTi-6 is still my daily driver... shocking I know!)

edit: Oh, plus tax and insurance obviously.

A 6 is still a car that works and not a money pit. Why do people think it's a disaster waiting to happen, :idiots

Commuting mostly! I live 40 miles away from my current job. About half of it is motorway, and the rest is more stop-start driving through North London.

Agreed. Mine has just returned from a 3,500 mile round trip to Poland after being stood since last summer. I didn't have any reservations about it completing the trip and it was faultless. After reading some of the posts on this forum over the years I'm beginning to think I must have the most 'normal' 6 going. I genuinely don't know what else to say about it, I turn the key and it goes.
153,000 on the clock now.

I guess most other people have total s**tters... Dunno

my onyx was a shed when i got her, after rebuilding the beam, renewing clutch & box, belt and water pump and service , i sold off some odds and ends i had kicking about so this car owes me nothing other than a tax disc, fuel and 2 head light bulbs. 5k of reliable motoring, i kick the s**t out of it at any oppertunity so can't complain

85k in two and a half years. Nothing but maintenance really, 13year old parts like radiator, servicing.

Car is a soldier, day in day out, some weeks upto a thousand miles.

She loves it. Take care of your car and she will take care of you Love

4 tyres
Lambda probe
Crank pulley
Accessory belt
Replace steering rack with VTS one
wheel bearing
rivnuts, rivnut tool, bolts for sideskirt reattachment
scrivets for wheelarches
More Electrox primer
MOT

...and that doesn't include much more spent over the last year or so. I'll now be looking to get my money's worth by driving it a lot.

Clearly at least one previous owner of my car subscribed to that theory judging by the amount of stuff that needed doing.

Spent £4 on the HDi since August for a non locking fuel cap. Although it's having an MOT in a few hours LOL

Actually made money on it by selling the Isofix bars. Was tempted to sell the crystals and fit frosted to get a bit more cash back, but I like the fact it looks like a '6 yet quicker.

Threw £500 at the 205 this month. About another £1500 and it'll be on the road for June.
