I shall do! I'm terrified as soon as I hit 50/60 I'll be gutted haha

As I typed that a woman who was sorting her MOT said "I know I need a new tyre, but is that the cheapest tyre?" ... "Yeah, that's a budget spec tyre, want something better?" ... "Well, I don't want to spend any more money on the car... 'erm, I don't do many miles, mostly just to take the kids to school"

Hilarious! Grip only matters if you're doing high mileage.

Jesus. It the only thing holding you to the road. Even my birds banged up old Citroën ZX is runng a set of half decent Toyo Proxy 4's. If I had kids id be looking to take them in it in a prime condition.

mine is pretty quiet at 80 LOL

for a 205 that is Wink got mine done in cardiff about 8 years ago iirc!

the one on the 405 is even older, and is not loud at all but is a decent performing one as its RR'd twice at 160, not bad for a 155 bhp engine Wink

Mine was so loud, I went back to Longlife and had them put another box and a 400cell cat in.

It's spot on now!

Mint is silent :? Like really quiet. There's a bit of a deep burble, but pretty quiet throughout.

When he showed me he said the back box they originally wanted to fit caught on the beam so they changed the back box. He also said that due to that, he used 2" pipe ... Which i dont know if its in my head but the car doesn't seem to pull as well at the top end

Should be 2 1/4" but mine was also 2" pipe which I thought ran well enough. I've since changed my longlife to a 2 1/2 bore magnex. I noticed no difference between the 2 pipes.

Mine also rr'd at 176bhp. Was a little down on torque but also had a decat. Ive since put a cat back on and it pulls much better. Smile

I'll put a photo up soon.... but this is sooooo smooth! Low down torque feels smoother and better, but it just doesn't seem to rev any more. There's no kick... anywhere

You running a cat or decat. I ended up fitting my cat back on which increased the top end torque. Smile

Mine is totally 'standard'. the exhaust was made to (almost) standard spec so it's cat, mid and back box.

The car is soooo smooth, I can't emphasise that enough, low down it feels great, but gets to 5k and feels flat

Maybe the smaller daimeter pipe is strangling the engine a bit. It felt fine with my 2"longlife. If you have concerns, run it back to them. Smile

This.

Its because it cant deal with the flow of exhaust gasses.
But only once the speeds are what they are at 5k

Yeah, I've guessed so.

Feels so good low down! It just totally dies Sad

I think I'll have to be getting a 2 1/4" pipe throughout. Surely they'll foot the bill seeing as how badly its affecting the car?

Our free-flow systems are designed for efficiency, which can give increased power and improved MPG. Usually the most noticeable improvement is in low down torque giving better acceleration.

How much was your system?

I just got a quote back for £450 cat back and £899 inc sports cat (we can make it cheaper by not mandrel bending and using a cheaper cat)

Am I right in thinking that the standard pipe gradually decreases in size as it approaches the backbox?

Either way, my car feels dead! Out on b-roads this weekend it felt like an overtake at 60 was asking a lot!

I spoke to James today and he's going to call Longlife and ask their opinion. He said they'll sort it and mention making the full system 2 1/4"

I'd be checking the cam timing tbh, unless it specifically happened when the exhaust was fitted, any other similar spec 306's you could do a comparison with?

Mine was a standard lump with a 2" longlife. When I put my magnex on I noticed nothing different. It always kept up with the local 6 boys. But if they are going to make another from 2 1/4" jobs a gooden. Smile
