Unfortunately having bought 4 sets of 15inch wheels, I have decided that my Kad 6 pots and standard size discs are not giving strong enough braking and am going to upgrade to a 330 mm setup. As a result need to buy a couple of new sets of lightweight 17inchers.
Already have a set of 17 inch pro 1.2s
Any recommendations? Unsure

Yeah Jeez Ross, how dare you consider a brake upgrade.

I think you should buy a Nissan Micra 1.0 GLX until you've learnt every possible driving scenario in every possible condition.... Having a gti before you've done this is just pointless if you don't learn to better your driving ability.....

There really is no need for these super sized brakes on these little pugs, those types are brakes are needed for much bigger faster and heavier cars. IMO 4 pot brakes are more then enough for the size and weight of the 306. My car has standard calipers fitted with Mintex 1144 pads and Tarox disks and not had any issues in stopping nice and quickly. As for a supercharged 6 then a bigger brake upgrade is a good thing but large 6 pot seems a bit overkill which means you have trouble finding the right alloys for them. Then you have to fit really large wheels which then leads to poorer times on track for instance compared to 15 inch wheels.

Is the gain of 2 more pots gonna really make that much difference ?

Could you not go for 4 pot Brembos with quality pads and disks ?

If you did the choice of light wheels would be better for you.

Agreed with WP, wise words Thumbs up

As said i already have 6pot KAD brakes on standard size discs. But feel that to make the most out of the brakes i need bigger rotors. As it is my thread please can we keep on topic about lightweight 17 inch alloys?
Welsh pug I already have a set of Ap racing six pots plus just for reference the four pot Ap callipers don't fit under standard wheels meaning i would need to get another two sets of wheels anyway. Ap racing are awesome brakes agreed but they still require minimum 17inch wheels with 330mm discs. I was hoping to get the braking i needed with 15s and haven't so Flip
