Exactly, because its no one has a 400bhp 306 lol

Binka did that in his turbo gti6 with 330bhp I think it was.

Birk, Plenty of people have roaded their high boost and got higher than 340hp.
What makes you think the other rolling road wasnt underreading
It doesnt have to be a conspiracy...

Also dont get what youre saying really, You kept up with a lambo (which one) but lost to an m3 (e36?) Was it from a standing start? Because a rear wheel drive m3 is always going to spank a 400hp fwd for a long while until the fwd car catches if its from standing.

The dyno was near enough new, so won't have been under reading.

It was a gallardo, but he could have just been driving like a pussy, it was lent to him by a mate.

E36 was from a rolling start, both level pegging upto 150mph then the m3 has the edge.
The same e36 got near enough the same times on quarter mile aswell.

Any evidence of these rr's, I've never seen any other high boost cars go on other rollers and them make over 400bhp

Seems possible Chris's rallye made 387bhp on SOS motorsports dyno!

How long after a service was you're Dyno Birk new plugs , oil age etc can make a big differrence on a big bhp car

Can't remember exactly when it was after a service dude, but it wasn't long after it had been built and mapped the 1st time. The car never lost power in the time I had it and the graph with fuel ratio on the 2nd dyno was perfect.

As for the low quarter miles the conversion does lack Torque and that's the reason for the 13.1 though for a fwd car isn't that still pretty impressive? Dunno

no, its because they are too heavy!

There's a 106 rallye hilclimb car in scotland with a conservative 200 bhp that'll crack the 13's, it's flat out pretty much at the 1/4 as its on a short ratio dog box Big grin

oh and it weighs under 700 kilos and is road legal.

I don't think so either lol

I think 10s/11s in a fwd car is impressive, the guy who had mine on the dyno has just mapped a 550whp civic with the same turbo as mine, which will be doing silly times. They must be sub 1000kg surly?

I suppose pug1offs 205 did an 11.2 on street tyres but had 100bhp more and say 350kgs lighter than a 306 and the bhp per ton makes a big difference Thumbs up

All I'm saying is 13.1 400bhp is quite reasonable time for a fwd car. The 205 with an evo engine and 600 bhp does a 10.8 so 200bhp and all that weight saving for 2.3 seconds. Makes it look a more respectable time as Welshpug says weight plays a big factor.

Weight does play a big part especially standing start as does torque hence focus rs is ~300kg heavier 100 bhp down on what a high boost claims to be but still does a quarter mile in 13.7.

To be honest I'd like to see more results on other rollers as I've always thought the figures they achieve seem off for a 400 bhp 306 and the same rollers from what I gather also tell people they are getting 200bhp or best part of from pt81's and remap which I personally think is rubbish too.

But the focus rs has 50lbft more than the high boosts + the revoknuckles to help traction. Focus rs max torque is 2500 rpm to get the same out of a high boost you'll need be much higher up the rev range. Unsure

The flywheel figures are an estimate with too many varying factors. On a rolling road the only figure that matters is the power at the wheels (providing the rollers are calibrated properly and the tyres do not slip). The tools are only as good as the person using them. You could have 1000hp through the front wheels but the stop watch is the only thing that matters Yes

Honestly when Birks turbo conversion is complete as long as done right even if he made the same bhp as my superhighboost his will always feel quicker. I like the supercharger as the power is linear with no boost spikes. Bear in mind 1000bhp veyron does 10.1 1/4 miles Thumbs up

Factors to check to get comparable numbers from rolling roads :

Always use same dyno and check recalibration was done since last visit

Use same type of tyres in same condition

Use same tyre pressures

Have bonnet open or closed for every test

Try to use same octane fuel. Age of fuel plays a part here.

Other factors like height above sea level and temperature play a part, as does the operator and correction factors used.

How do the high boost quarter mile top speeds compare to similar fwd cars ?

I've known a 400bhp focus st/Rs do a much better time and they weigh 120kg more. Can't remember exactly what time it was mind.

Ive always thought the quarter mile times were pretty poor all considered but id be more concerned with top speed down the strip to gauge the power. Launch and traction have a big part in the actual times.

I can't exactly remember what my exact figures were, but I'm pretty sure my 0-60's were summet like 5.2 - 5.5 sec and my top speed over the line at 118mph.
