Thinking of chopping my Fabia vRS (Mk2) Estate. It's 180bhp DSG etc. paid off now so thinking of swapping.

Must have Constraints:
5 Door
Max £250ish car tax
Min 30mpg
Petrol

Nice To haves:
Half decent boot
NOT M3 level maintenance/repairs etc.
Rarity

Thoughts?

Good shout, but maybe the diesel would be better? They are dann powerful, and of course a bit better on fuel. Could possibly get a nice 5 door Audi S3 for that money too.

No diesel. Lots of short journeys. Also in my must haves!

330i. Hmm. Heard horror stories about running costs (tyres exhausts etc)???

What would I get for £11k?

330i s are not expensive to run!
Trust me it ticks all the boxes and sounds epic.
The 320d is one of he least reliable bmw engines of all.

Most definitely a buyers market at the moment when it comes to edition 30's. Gareth is a bit worried by the amount of them that are on the market at the moment LOL Great fun cars (although i only have only driven a 1.4 306, a gti6, fabia vrs or diesel a3 to compare it to) feel free to pm me for any 'real life' info on them...Gaz knows most of the pro's/cons when it comes to them...'Rolf' the golf is his baby!

+1 on the edition 30.

Doubt you'll find a decent S3 for 11k though.

Decent A3 for (almost) £11k

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201303306027361/sort/default/usedcars/model/a3/make/audi/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/page/2/keywords/s3/postcode/sn127bh/radius/1500?logcode=p

EDIT** Yeah you're right actually, only 5 door A3's for this money sadly.

It's taken years but I prefer to buy a car and pay it off ASAP to give me 'equity' for the next rather than do this 'leasing' thing with PCP.

Id love an S3 Sportback but they've only been out 4-5 years ish so still looking at £18k upwards.
