Small miles gear rod keeps popping off

Have put cable tie on but need to drive far tmw

Does anyone have spare clip in / around London / Brighton?

As above, yeah no probsThumbs up

Are you sure the small spring clip is not missing from inside the rod?Dunno

As even without the retaining clip these rods take quite alot of pressure to pop offYes

Ive got one small clip sitting on my strut top thats been there for about a year now because i never got round to fitting it back in lol. Your welcome to it

Thanks Kev - how would I check the spring clip inside the rod? So there's a clip inside & outside? It is very loose so probably!

I'm planning to buy a load of small spring clips from motor factor then dropping in garage this morning.

D'you reckon they'll understand?


Thanks Niall - I've have grabbed this off you yday but reckon I may need more than one & hopefully the clips I get today will sort it.

Take the rod off and have a look.

Could be its stuck slightly, so not springing back once ball is in the cup.
