In the market for a new daily whilst the '6 is off road and was wondering if anyone has any reconmendations. got about 2.5k to spend and ideally needs to be diesel and practical. Was looking at another 306/307 but got 2 dogs and a misses with a kid so no really big enough LOL been looking at VAG but only ever had a mk2 golf gti and wasnt as good as everyone made them out to be. Anyone got any ideas?

Not on the earlier 184hp manual engines!
U need to check for swirl flaps on any 184 bhp auto or any 204hp engine regardless of 5/6 speed/auto box's

Checked insurance on most things and pretty much everything from 307/306 hdi to 330d and v70 is 900 odd quid so probs going to be something along the lines of a 330d. couldnt have a 306 when i know i could have a BMW or volvo for same and get a better spec'd car lol

I would not get a 307 diesel or petrol, iv had two in the past months and both played up, 9 times out of 10 it will let you down.

If it wasn't for the questionable reliability i'd go for a Alfa 156 sportwagon 1.9 jtdm. Absolutely gorgeous, decent kit and fair performance vs economy Love

...at least when its working!
