Are all phase 2 wiring looms the same? Would a 5 door loom fit my Gti?

No, they differ by equipment level and body type as well as age.

Are you referring to an engine bay wiring loom? If so, you will need one from a '6' mate. Yes

Interesting question...

I would imagine they will differ slightly as for example the Phase 1 has an analogue instrument cluster, whereas Phase 2 and 3 have a digital one.

Why exactly do you need a "new" loom. A problem with the old one, or are you building up a shell from parts? Dunno

Problem with the old one, its been made a mess of when cutting the wires down on the track car! New loom is easiest and quickest way to fix it!

I see.

I would imagine you will be ok as long as you obtain one from a Phase 2 or 3 then.

A Phase 1 will be different in at least two ways I can think of, firstly the instrument cluster and secondly the keypad immobiliser. There are probably other differences, but I can't think of them off my top of my head. Smile

Yes, that should work ok, as at very least they should both be Phase 2 or the unofficial 2.5.
