For all you bikers, a link to this just came up in my news feed from a discounts page I follow on Facebook.

£5 Windproof thermal balaclava. No use to me, but thought some of you might be interested. Thumbs up

depends how tall you are. I'm 5'7" and never had a problem. all local riding was fast road but iI did a lot of motorway miles too. iI can't remember the mileage but Amsterdam to Germany wasn't an issue, actually we did a few long days and iI was always comfortable.

That said, the r6 iI had wasn't as aggressively style as the new ones, iI know the clip ons (handlebars) are at a move aggressive angle

My GSXR 600 SRAD wasn't, but then 90's bikes often were a lot more comfy. My mates 2009 R6 was considerably less comfy but he often rode to Poole which is a good couple of hours away. Never heard him complaining much.

I'm 6ft and weigh around 85kg, so not a small chap as such. Interestingly someone I was chatting to about bikes last year reckoned a 600 would be too small for me. I've never been and sat on one yet so I'm not sure. I wouldn't do huge mileage on it but just wondered about the comfort thing Thumbs up

Nice bike Dave, that's lovely Cool

In addition to the CBT & DAS, I have to do the theory test right? https://www.gov.uk/practise-your-driving-theory-test

I guess I have to book that online and then sit the exam at a test centre of my choice? Dunno

Been quoted £795 for an intensive 5 day course including CBT & DAS, is that reasonable?

I think the price has gone up now because of the changes, but the price has gone off the website that I used so can't confirm a price but another site local to me that was more expensive has also gone up to £790. So for London I'd say that's ok

Thanks mate, I miss it daily Sad

You need CBT, DAS and Theory, yeah Smile

You have to book your theory, then once that's done book CBT and start your DAS.

I'm not sure how much the test has changed as I took it 6/7 years ago, but I knew thought there was more control work in a confined area now, rather than pottering around the roads and doing a U-turn

Jeez i paid £550 for CBT and a 4 day direct access course in Taunton, that was back in 2004 though.

Might be worth looking at places back home CUJ; the roads will be less intimidating for a learner as well?
