Morning all,

Hopefully some of you lot can help me out.

My old man has a Peugeot Boxer based camper van. The reverse light was staying on all the time so removed switch and sure enough it was fooked - swapped it over with a new one but now the light doesnt work when putting it into reverse.

The light come on if you bridge the 2 pins on the connector or push the switch in maunally so all wiring, bulbs etc. are fine.

I presume there is something that moves inside the gearbox to push the bottom of the switch. It is as if this isnt coming up far enough to engage the switch.

Anyone ever came across something similair?

Thanks in advance,

Graeme Thumbs up

That would probably help - 2004 2.0 HDi - 5 Speed Manual box

SB has it listed as BOXER II MEDIUM CHASSIS CAB TYPE 10 2.0 HDi 90 Manual gearbox 5.

I have the chassis no. if its any use. Thumbs up

hmm, only one reverse switch fitted to that age, 2257 53, there is a different switch fitted to earlier gearboxes which might be an issue but that change was 2000.

Aye thats the one I have bought.

Am I correct in saying that it could be something to do with the controls in this diagram not engaging the switch properly?
