How long is a piece of string.
Does the piece of string have higher compression?
Does the piece of string have cams?
Is there a further piece of string thats bored out and 2.2?

Think Low Boost SC is the best way to go in terms of best power gain for your money, certainly if you are able/confident in fitting it all yourself?

I want to go down the ITB route if I ever do get another '6.

+1 I had a Rallye and a 6 because of they way they handle. Not about straight line speed.
Buying throttle bodies is the cheap bit then ecu, remap etc. Best off Going low boost or buying a faster car.

I've just done bodies in my project thread on my rallye and yes as others have said for the cost there's not a massive gain compared to the likes of a charger as realistically your looking at similar costs for a low boost package. The bodies do make a big difference though and transform the car and sound awesome just depends on your preference really.

Yep thats the main reason i want them, speed isnt everything.

I suggest you go into a car with TB then one with a super charger then decide which is best for you.

If you really want to make a 306 faster, go for a supercharger. Second hand SC kits pop up every now and again.

TBs as said above will cost similar to a second hand SC and is likely to give less power.

This is an interesting thread, my dream ticket is a turbo but have looked into all possible ways to gain

power, as said above, supercharging is arguably the best way to go bang for buck, ~ 250 bhp for

couple or so grand (s.hand obviously) and a days graft fitting it

From what ive learned, ITB's on a standard engine yields approx 180 ponies, keeping the standard

inlet setup but with say PT81's and a map will see us knocking on the door of 200 brake, at the

cost of about £1000, fitting of these on top unless your capable of diy.

To safely fit decent cams then its no surprise you have to pocket the pistons, and in my eyes if

your taking the pistons and rods out then it would be pointless not to replace the rings and big end

shells. If your (like mine) engine has covered more than 'average' miles then it may be beneficial

    to refresh the complete engine...

i roughly work it out to achieve up to 200bhp, your looking at or around £1500 to rebuild engine

and then fit cams and finally map the std ecu

Second hand charger kits have been available around the £2k mark, so if no fuss, tried and

tested power gains are what your after then i can't see past the Rotrex

Honestly for the money you will spend, either spend it on a faster car or proper suspension and tyres.

Tbh it depends what you are going to do with it. Track, don't bother make it corner faster, road, well there is more of a case, but you can buy much quicker cars for less than 2k.
