They are a good buy for a track car, I'd imagine?

I've not needed one doing fast road driving. That said, these engines do seem to run hot

My oil in the V6 even when pushing it stays at a lovely stable temperature ensuring a constant maxium viscosity!

If ya get one though use a thermostat sandwich plate to ensure oil is not constantly cooled as this can be bad.

Yep, good for prolonged fast road and track use.

As said already, you MUST get a thermostat installed into the system somewhere to ensure the oil doesn't run too cold.

I thought you could just get the normal one and leave the heat exchanger in place?
That way it would only use the oil cooler when dictated but the heat exchanegr all ready there
Or am i wrong?

No Eliot, you need to thermostatically control the oil flow through the cooler to stop it running too cold. The heat exchanger is exactly that, it's not a cooler. No
