Laugh my ass off

There aren't any more pictures of this build AFAIK, he only posts these to his facebook account. And no, I will not write a single word to him again, as last night I wrote the following to him on FB:

Hi ****,

How much did these RB2 discs cost? I found a set for sale, but I would like to know if they are overpriced or not, hance asking about how much did you pay for them.

reply:

next time start with "I would like to kindly ask" , and thereafter why the f**k are you asking if you already found a set for sale?

All this after I had my car mapped by him (I have to admit that he's good at mapping ECUs, but suck in choosing brake components), spent a whole day next to him, and we were chatting all day long, and I paid well for his work. On the way home there was no idle at all, but I still did not shout or anything, so I just tried to solve it and after loads of work there was nothing else than the ECU mapping itself I asked him to solve the issue, which we enventually did (I did all the ECU map modifications he told me over the phone). So he wasn't a kock like this before... But lately he's been working on a local TV presenter's car, so he's really high minded...

Will have to see what will be his excuse in the barriers tho. LOL

Alcon do a carbon setup for the GTR - called CCX. More expensive than my house and significantly bigger than my head.

f**k him then sounds like a c**t to be fair.
E36 compacts are f**king awful as well. Saloon is a 10x better base for a track car
Has he put a m3 engine in a compact?

Sounds like a prized cock to me. Let him break his legs. He might be a little more humble after a year on crutches.

He actually did... Well each to their own, there's nothing wrong with the car apart from this brake setup.

lol good idea Big grin Yep, and I can tell him that the carbon fibre is a top layer used to clean up the disc's surface LOL

Back to the carbon brakes themselves, if I get your word right Phil, the roadgoing car's brakes were developed from the carbon/carbon discs, to work actually when cold, and to decrease disc wear.

Road going brake discs are carbon/ceramic, it's not the same as carbon/carbon, there's a lot of silicon carbide in the matrix which gives it much different properties.

£2k, lmfao, no he didn't, £20 for some f**ked ones from testing...I could have you a set of carbon ceramic discs custom made for that LOL

I looked into this a bit back, not with F1 stuff mind, but with Porsche PCCB's, which are supposed to last ages. Decided the only real advantage was in the unsprung weight loss as me brakes are good already.

You'd think so, but I think as Porsche had issues with their series 1 design of carbon ceramics, there have been a couple cases of the Aston discs "warping". Or being out of balance, much like a warped disc. This was years ago though, but just a heads up if you're thinking of buying and old setup.

The discs will last the life of the car, 200k and the pads will last 15k with road use. I'm sure this will drop dramatically with a lot of track use

I think that unless I was racing and my car was the most underpowered vehicle on the grid, I'd get them as I doubt you'd get them to fade, but no... steel discs will do just fine Smile

I don't think there'll be any kind of trackday until March, so even if he tries the car there won't be a great audience to watch when he wraps the car around a lamppost...

And am I the only one thinks that the caliper brackets are not one of the best designs in the world?
