right i measured my head. 3 to 4 times.

according to my digital vernier. the height of the head not including the cam covers. the height is 137.1


little bit baffled lol

Are both the cam carrier faces and the head gasket face perfectly clean and free of previous gasket/debris?

Perhaps try another set of verniers to compare, yours may need calibrating? Best to rule them out. Yes

yea definitely been skimmed, those notches u guys were referring to. mine are barely visible.... il see if i can get it re calibrated and try again n let you no

That's certainly a good starting point. To be fair, the head height minimum is 136.8mm +/- 0.05mm.

Therefore at your figure of 136.71mm, you are 0.04mm outside of the maximum tolerance permissible. It will be touch and go whether or not that head is reusable really. Sad

std repair gasket is 1.4, if you find a 1.45 you'll be reet.

A gasket 1.45mm thick will take it back to 136.96mm, so will be ok with this. Yes

Unfortunately, it will be a fibre gasket as Welshpug said, which whilst they are perfectly fine to use I just have a pet hate from them and much prefer the MLS design.

However, saying that, in this instance you've got no choice. Smile

sp what would happen if you went over tolerance.

say i put a 1.55mm gasket on and it was over 137?

pug 1 off can get any size head gasket multi-layered steel. ordered.



if i get a bottom pulley (alloy) do u know if there is a rubber or solid?

isit worth getting one to ensure timing
