I want something for my low boost '6 that sounds nice but doesn't cause the Mrs to moan, I don't really want to lose power so I'm thinking I should stick to 2.5 inch. I'm particularly concerned about boomy noises around 70-80mph as most other aftermarket exhausts are dreadful after a while.

Do you think the mild steel vs stainless will make enough of a difference?

I must be getting old but doing quite a few motorway miles means the current stainless system, while sounding nice, is a pain...

Does anyone have any experience with these exhausts?

http://www.ashleyexhausts.co.uk/peugeot-306-2-12-competition-twin-box-system-aps38_p1411420.htm

PS - I've trawled the existing exhaust posts but can't find much about Ashley exhausts...

I would look at getting one made or a Jetex. Anything else and you are likely to get a boom.

I'd look elsewhere

Many years should had an Ashley system on my mg metro, it was far too loud couldn't travel any distance inthe car

Think I kept it on for a month then replaced it with a janspeed system which was far better all around

Ok glad I posted. Damn!

Eliot, have you fitted the exhaust? Might see if I can pop over if you're in Islington. I'm over near Tower Hill.

not yet Havent bought it yet only found jt yesterday.
Will be buying after my beam is on as i doubt my exhaust will survive being distrupted and its a gash "oe replacement" pattern part p.o.s.
Do you live in tower hill then? nice! I work not too far away from there on leadenhall street.
Ill let you know when i have one but it wont be for a month or so Smile

Might wait then and let you be the guinea pig Smile

I keep meaning to get along to a meet up at the Ace Cafe but driving in London is such a pain I can't be arsed most of the time! Last time I ventured up to Kings Cross some spanner reversed into me and got all shirty when I got out the car asking how on earth he didn't see me!

Ok, cool. Need to get the money together and then might just go for it. I'm hoping to do Croft in June so will probably need something fairly quiet to get by there.

I'll be sure to record some videos of before and after if I get a different exhaust. Always good to have comparisons available online for other people.

The Scorpion system I've got on the road car (sports cat and Scorpion back box, not sure about mid-box) is very boomy at motorway speed. It get's pretty repetitive on the drive to and from Newcastle.

The Magnex (I think) system on the track car is much better!

Ever been in a Gti6 with one of these fitted?Dunno Don't think you can of been,Cause you would not be recommending them to anyone thats after a quiet exhaust if you hadWink

Got one on mine atm,E-Bay bargainBig grin although it was not supplied by Miles, its a Torque Technique stainless system, exactly the same as Mile's cause thats where he gets them from!

Nice sound to it,but louder than my Scorpion from idle upto 3000rpm,then quieter than the Scorpion 3000rpm to rev limiter, which is why people with track cars like them I thinkThumbs up

Don't get me wrong its no Magnex sort of noiseLOL but part throttle under 3000rpm,or cruising at 2500-3000rpm its not quiet!Thumbs down

I fitted it last week, and sold it this weekWhistle
