Could a knackered cv joint cause vibrations which feel like unbalanced front wheels? Getting vibrating at motorway speeds. Ive been getting a few clonks and clicks from the offside shaft. Only really when I instigate it by going full lock right on a hill, pulling away and allowing the car to then stop and roll backwards. Getting some awkward sounding clonk and click everytime?

It could either be that or the halfway bearing on the offside shaft faulty...

Could be a couple things together id just get the car up and have a look youself before anything. Check the wheel for movement, then take it off and inspect everything. Check the balancing weights are still on the wheel then go over everything. Check the ball joints, driveshaft, bushes everything. Even check for excessive engine movement. I had almost exactly this with the clunking and it turned out to be the top engine mount

I think we have this on the 106, the steering wobble isnt the same as unblanced wheels its more of a subtle wobble. Going around 50 mph and i can hear the driveshaft make noises but not below that speed.

I think it is the driveshaft on yours, i checked mine and movement is there at the hub side of the driveshaft.

Recently travelling in a transit van, the Driveshaft gaiter had gone on it causing the Grease to flick everywhere inside the wheel arch, Thus causing the vibrations.

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time

Yes, once the grease has been thrown out of the joint the joint will run dry and wear at a very fast rate causing vibrations and then failure.

There is usually a loud bang and then the car won't drive anywhere. You can have it in gear and let the clutch out and the car will just sit there...
