Afternoon

Had my front wheels off this morning to check some bits out.
Both wheels, especially the off side, was very difficult to spin round. Felt as though the brake was on leading me to believe they are sticking.

I don't have the time to get them off and rebuild them, plus I have no idea how.
Think the easiest thing for me to do is buy some refurbished Calipers.

Are there any easy checks I can do other than spin a wheel. Though the drivers wheel wasn' t even spinning, took some force to move it round

Did a search in the brake forum and see a few others with similar problems.

Thanks
Michael

Refurb ing the front calipers is not too hard, try biggred for the rebuilt kit. A£27 for the kit.

Thanks for the advice guys

Here's my problem. I have a 2yr old and a 2 week old baby, so time is not something I have at the moment. With no kids I'd happily sit and workout how a rebuild goes. What I need is a quick solution hence the purchase of some refurb units. Think I've answered my own question really

Pretty much new, loads of meat on them, so can keep them and just switch Calipers and hoses

Cheers Dan but think I'll go for a rebuilt set so to avoid the same problem down the line

That could be pretty expensive though. Checking the sliders would take about 30 mins max for both sides. Not sure you will get yokes and sliders with a refurbed caliper anyway. I'd buy second hand if it were me, Dan's a good lad and won 't sell you s**t.

Although I know how hard it can be to get time away from babies and kids etc

I know Dan wouldn't sell crap but a second hand unit could end up the same

I've had a decent quote on refurbed units so will go that way for piece of mind

    Too true.

Newly refurbed and painted calipers on their way to me next week, also getting some braided lines.

All being fitted next week along with some Pug Racing gear rods and fresh Pug gear oil
