I'm looking for a phase 1 xsara steering rack if anyone has one kicking about!

I've just taken mine off as its exploded and now a slightly different shape.

So let me know ASAP if you have one please!

Do they definitely define between the phase 1 and phase 2 vts rack? I looked online and some places just do a xsara vts rack covering all years...

I doubt very much you will find a xsara rack new these days even if you order one.

which bit of yours is bust? if the rack and pinion itself is usable just re-house it.

Il have to have a proper look at it. When I took it off, the mangled shape wasn't really worth looking at at the time. The main ally casing is in pieces, and the steering arms are bent. As for the actual internals of it all I'm not too sure.

I think that sold.

Plus looing on the ECP site, it looks like the refurbed rack they sell has a lead time of approx 6 weeks! I was hoping more within 1 and it would be fitted!

they probably send your rack away if that's the case, so yours needs to be servicable.

you stripped yours down yet?

Tomorrow mornings job that is I think. Is it a relatively simple strip down job then? And how about actually rebuilding it into another housing? Not something I've ever considered so don't know what's involved...

I have a lot of subframe removing and fitting to be done aswell to weld on some rear wishbone mounting brackets. So the only extra jobs I want are relatively simple! Haha.

Still looking for a rack.

I would need a banana shaped housing to get the existing rack gear part into anything else...

im thinking of taking the phase 1 vts rack off my 205, so could be available if you wanted to replace the arms as they were shortened to fit the 205.
