Uhmm ive called him the 2nd time also again about the coils, he said use NGK BKR7E, no need to go for some fancy irridium ones, just copper, they extract heat from the cylinderhead the best, and that are the ones i need he told me....
And he told me specifically the BKR7E

the 7 is 1 level colder than the regular part, afaik. I also have an iridium set 1 level colder. I moved to 2 levels colder once because every book on turbocharged recommended it (unless you get issues in idle).

I guess its another question to ask Pieter, once i succeed in contacting him.

THx guys, having mayor problems with the custom cage, theyve made some big measuring errors, and it seems that this whole cage can go straight to the bin.

theyll come saturdayevening to inspect and do new and hopefully good measurements.
Mainhoop is to small, needs to be 10cm wider
frontlegs are way off! sit 20cm to low, not properly bend, etc etc etc

So the cage project is on hold, will start with the coilovers i think tomorrow

Good to see you on here been following your thread on the other site for a while. I'll be interested in where you run the intercooler pipes as I'm looking to run a similar one myself soon. Need to mount 2 oil coolers behind it though ideally though.

Armzs, you could go for the easy way and also the bad way, an intercooler with the inlet and outlet on one side.

My friends ZX build by DP engineering ( 5 years ago) came with that kind of setup, ive asked Pieter from DP what his thoughts were on that kind of setup now.... he said they would never use that type of intercooler again ( if hed said it its oke i would have used it since it makes it a lot easier)

The problem is with the big one im using is that i have to ditch the mesh in the bumper and the foglights, if you have a look at my first few pictures you can see that using a "normal" size intercooler will fit nicely and you can easily run the passengerside( your driverside) piping over the intercooler to the other side.
If you dont have airco theres also enough room to pipe it just behind the intercooler on the bottom.

Why would you run 2 coolers? im using one 12 row i think from Mocal, and there were no problems on the ZX with one , even with hard use.

Let me know

, i had a Vortech V1 Ttrim with special impeller on the M3 (max 850BHP) that one just uses the engine oil for lubrication, i dont know if the rotrexes come with their own closedoilunit but i dont think that you have to cool that oil as wel.

the only supercharger that gets real hot as a freshlylaid s**t, is a (H)Eaton

Well as i was typing this, finally there was a postman ringing the door, about time with al this xmasbusiness.

New Zimmerman 330mm brakediscs are in

The old one are still failry good, but they look like s**t, new fresh ones will look much better and some holes are always nice.

Rotrex's have their own closed only circuit using MEGA expensive oil.
They arent totally comparable to other chargers as they are centrifugal and also spin at something silly like 100,000rpm

Yeh I'll be using a 13 row mocal oil cooler and already have the cooler for the rotrex supercharger fluid circuit. Need to take everything off the front and have a measure really.

the discs are redrilled, gonna get that done next week(yearWink)

Well weve installed the SACHS race clutch and coverplate, the gearbox has been converted and ready for the pressureplate, tried to install the SACHS HD release bearing but that one didnt fit, so put in a stock one.
All installed and ready to go....

Installed sandwichplate for the mocal oilcooler, and oilfeed

Having a look at the swirlpot, wont be using the black hoses, most likely wil use the nice aero fittings and braided hose.

Bosch Motorsport 044 pump, and theres a Walbro 255LPH in the tank

If this is to much work for now, ill do it in a later stage...

MSD ingnition, need to make a new bracket for it

Modified cover for the MSD, stripped and ready for wrinkling!!!

They came over to have a look at the cage, and just what i thought theyre going to make complete new cage, took new measurements and i hope we wont have trouble with cage nr2.

Also ditched the front doorcards, and ordered 4 carbon doorcards, should be here in a week or 3 , since there made to order.

New pics soon!

Wel i ordered some carbonplates... and had a go at the glovebox

Ive got a spare one since ive made an error and got the first one the wrong way round, so perfect for you UK guys... make me an offer and its yours, its 1.5mm carbonfiberplate.
Just needs a bit of polishing or a new coat of clear

Voila a bit of clearcoat, (still needs polishing)

Fits nice, (note the car is very dirty and the dash looks blueish on the pics, but it al black inside)

Also finished the modded cover for the MSD ingnition coils

And painted the bells of the new 330ers, so they wont rust and look like s**t!

BTW, which type of Oil do you use for this engine, now that its going to be tripled in HP? Staying on the OE oil or moving to something more like 10W50 or 10W60?
