Ah, got it now.

His last comment was right on though - it's not everyone's cup of tea. He's clearly been relying on the Haynes Max Power 306 guide for styling tips. Makes me feel slightly nauseous looking at it. Or is that the too-much curry I ate last night?

Considered both? Thumbs up

Me too, but old coots seem to either go for MGBs or Porsches.

I can't fit into a MGB and have never liked them, and the absolutely stupid prices of Porsche parts puts me off.

So I'm stuck with the 306 for now.

I'm seeing less and less of them being modified now though chaps, and lets just face it.. the ones that are being modified to look crap are the 1.4s etc...

Our Gti6's and Rallye's will always be in an element of their own with a decent history behind them. The other engine types can suck it.

with 6's fetrching 750 with tax and mot, why will the kids / young adults buy a 1.4..... i know insurance kills the 6 but they are still now available to all budgets even if they will need the same spending every year to keep it going....

Fk me this thread is a joke..... I'm sure I types in 306gti6.com and not pug306.net.....

This is the reason I left the forum for a while... So what if its not everyone's cup of tea, and yeah he may have lost money on it tbh I'm not a fan but I'm pretty sure a lot of u guys have been there... Ben306 started off with a 5dr maxi stickered 1.4, simonjames started off with a bodykitted pug which evolved to the xsi6 etc etc and yeah we may all own 6's(most of us) but we ain't a superior race because of it, just a eye for a mid 90's well planted hot hatch and let's face it, he could waste his money on drugs, get smacked off his tits and mug old ladies but NO he chooses to spend it on an inanimate object which he can take some pride in and enjoy regardless of what ppl think!!!
I don't condone you guys from showing your opinions its a free forum (so to speak) but some of you guys f'in and blinding about it makes me wanna chuck cold water over ya so up don't low a blood vessel it's a 1.4 ffs

lol, i wanted a ph3 and worked out a way of changing the ph1 into it.

I had changed the interior over, wired up Rear ph3 lights, window regs and controls.
And finally changed over the bodywork to the ph3 style ready for it to be resprayed - Never got a chance to do that as this happened:
