My GTi6 had the common stalling problem most 306's seem to get.

In the past I had changed ICV and Lambda sensor. Was think it might be MAP sensor however I haven't touched that and I've sorted it.

I read somewhere on here it could be the power steering sensor effecting the idle when not in gear and when I put my car through a diagnostics with Carl Chambers it said there was an issue with power steering sensor.

So I changed that for another one and never had a problem since! Running very smooth without the embarrising stalling and revving! Thumbs up

So, just wanted to give a heads up to those who haven't already, change your power steering sensor if you are having stalling issues. Only about £10 - £20 for a used one.

Life's so much better without the stalling issue I can tell you. At first I was still in the habbit of being ready to give it a touch on the accelerator when in idle to keep the revs going and not stalling. Save's me a lot of hassle now Big grin

I have seen it somewhere on this forum about the power steering sensor, but I couldn't find it again so here's the heads up people

With that attitude you could spend a fortune practically rebuilding the car.

Fair enough, I had this vision that you were going through the whole car every single nut and bolt renewing them so you knew they wouldn't fail. LOL
