It's done 5 - 10k miles since it was built. It made 180+ bhp at the wheels at the rollers with Sandy. That was on a standard GTi-6 inlet so with ITB's it'd be near 200bhp at the wheels I'd think. Certainly a strong engine.

Spec is:

S16 block bored to 87mm
diesel 88mm crank
forged wiesco pistons
shot peened rods
arp rod bolts
balanced bottom end
taylor engineering stage 3 inlet cam and stage 1 exhaust cam.
flowed head - not sure who did the work but I bought it off a forum member just after the work had been done.
powder coated rocker cover

Plenty of pictures here in the project thread http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=88528

Looking for £1200. May split bottom end from top if there's no interest.

Thanks,

Lewis

Daft question to some I'm sure, but will this run on GTi-6 management?

I would say this will almost certainly need to be running on a standalone ECU. I had it running on a DTA ecu and was due to stick some ITBs on before buying a new car altogether. If you went somewhere like chip wizards you might be able to get the standard ECU remapped but to be honest I'm not sure.

I've got ITB's for sale too which would be suitable. £600 including air filter and manifold.

for £2200 I'd let the whole lot go.

Engine, including all ancilliaries like starter, brand new alternator, injectors.
DTA S40 Pro ecu with loom used in 205 gti but would likely fit 306 with ECU in glovebox
colin satchell / sandy brown ITBs with manifold and air filters

I'd think so. Must have been over 200 on the gti6 plenum if it was 185 at the wheels. On itbs it should be getting on for 225 or more at the flywheel. Hard to say really. All i can say for sure is 185 at the wheels when I had it mapped.

What would the capacity be, if the 88mm crank wasn't used? 2045cc? Would that fit into the 2litre or under class as it is below 2050cc so would be rounded down? Or am I talking crap? LOL

it would be pointless buying this engine to do that with it.
