Hi guys, I've been lurking on this forum a little for the last few months toying with the idea of getting a '6 to replace my aging 205 S16 (running a 2.1 XU10J4 around 200 bhp) and recently spotted m306's (Mark Allen) supercharged china blue 6 for sale and decided to make the jump. First impressions are that it shifts like nothing else I've ever owned! The ride is fantastic being on standard suspension and despite being supercharged I'm getting a good 350+ miles to a tank. What more can you want?!

I'm a bit gutted to have to sell my 205 after spending so much time and money on it (I've owned it for 7 years) but the '6 is certainly easing the pain. The worst thing is that I'll have to sell the 205 in bits because I just wouldn't get anything like the value of parts if I sold it running. It's going to take a lot of effort pulling it all apart but right now I don't regret the decision. Boost is just addictive! Smile

As with all French cars I'm already building up a list of things I'd like to get done! The seats could do with replacing / recovering at some point, the exhaust is blowing quite badly and needs sealing and generally it needs a good machine polish to get the swirl marks out. Other than that I think it's just ready to be driven, until something else breaks!

Hopefully I'll get along to a meet at some point, any excuse to drive this beast will be welcome! Time to get trawling old threads to see what is likely to go wrong first with this 13 year old French rocket!

Glad it's still on the forum, I still think Mark was mad to sell so soon after paying out on the conversion, but bonus for you picking up such a recent SC install. Welcome along, brake upgrades and oil cooling would be my first suggestions to keep things safe and give the engine an easier time come summer.

Admitedly i do feel bad about letting it go, it was by far the fastest road car ive ever known and i will miss it, but the rs250 is more luxurious inside and has more tuning potential at a reasonable price.

Welcome to the forum officially Lewis, cant wait to see a project thread pop up from you

Didnt realise you had a RS250?
Explains everything!
Surely the RS250 is slightly quicker with all that torque?
Its the only hatch I would consider after the 6.
Although my plan at the moment is to charge the 6 and keep it and a main car for a few years,
Then retire it to be fun/track toy and pick up a M3 CSL.
Which is my ultimate car, Although values are climbs slightly lately :s

Yep ive got a 2010 rs250 to replace the sc6, yes it has more torque but is also about 170kg heavier and has a wider ratio box so when both on the power the pug is still quicker and more exciting, but the rs250 pulls hard from like 1500rpm which is really nice and imo makes it a better car. Handling wise they are very similar, both have good cornering speeds and grip whilst being fun with loos when you want it Wink

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Mark's megane is lovely but I'm still convinced he's mad for selling this car, it's fantastic! The only issue I have is my brother wanting to drive it all the time, really shouldn't have offered to stick him on the insurance!

Anyone know any good car detailers to get a good machine polish etc? Preferably in the Midlands or London areas.

Please... Its the best hot hatch out buy a country mile, and the version with 15hp more than yours holds the record for fwd cars on the Nurburgring.
Its at least slightly special.

Tears a Focus RS500 a new one with 110 hp less
