Evening all,

Ok getting down to the last of my list of problems now, left with only:-

Central locking bouncing. Each door locks individually with the key ( Cant remember if central locking used to operate with the key in the lock or not or even if its meant to?!? )

Interior light not coming on when either front door is opened. Bulb is ok as with the ignition on and the switch "on" the light lights up like a lighty thing.

Electric Windows work, light up, mirrors work, temp sensor, speakers etc work, but guessing im looking at a broken wire?!

Any help or a starter for 10 would be much appreciated!!

Was fine till ECU change, had the box at the bottom of the dash etc out and unplugged to prevent locking the new ecu but since then my locking woes have continued.......

Cheers for any help!!

Ally

Ok, have you unplugged both plugs from the immobiliser box?

Hi Rich,
Yeah had done that during the ecu change, then unplugged one again and left it out ( cant remember why, possibly to stop it locking?!?!? )
Should I try plugging back in?? dont want to lock the ecu up!

Yeah, if it's a soft unlocked ECU then it will lock if it sees a foreign immobiliser unit.

On the phase 3 the immobiliser, central locking and alarm are all inside that one box. The larger plug with the bigger pins is for the immobiliser and the smaller plug with smaller pins is for the alarm and central locking.

The smaller plug will need to be connected for the central locking to work on a phase 3.

Have you changed the box, or is it the original one?

Original box sir, not sure now about which plug I left out and which I plugged in! Will check it tomorrow though in the light, its operating, just bouncing rather than nothing at all?!?! If that makes any sense!!
As for if its a soft unlocked ECU, this im not sure!!!

Thanks lots Rich!!

Ok, that sounds like the central locking plug is connected, as it wouldn't do anything with it unplugged.

It sounds like it's broken wires in one (or both) door looms.

Just take the door loom casing off, the wires will be all next to each other, the most common place for it to break is just before it goes into the 'plug'.

If one is broken then repair it Smile
