Didn't honestly notice a great change in turn in but did notice it was much harder to get the car under control again if the rear end stepped out! Although the crash was mainly thanks to wet grass, or thats my excuse anyway...

Love that track, what damage did you do?

I did notice both...the turn in and the recovery.
Are you using standard arb and torsion bar.
Even in a total standard 306, only using a zx rear axle, the rear end steps out really fast, comparing to one with 306 axle.

Nice vid...it was shame that it ended that way! Sad

I was quite lucky really. The first impact actually happened about 3 foot in the air, and the only part of the car to hit the barrier was the bottom half of the back wheel, which hit the top of the barrier, and bent the trailing arm in nicely. The passenger door flew open on impact and then when I hit the second barrier on the other side of the circuit it ripped the door back on itself, which was only a skin anyway and mangled the rear quarter panel which had to be replaced. I was really lucky not to roll it over the barrier on the first impact really!

Was an ace car, I actually sold it after that and the next owner sorted it out and took it rallying. Then i bought my btcc car...

I'm doing the same one day soon. Gonna get all my wheels shot blasted and probably powder coated. I think you'll be happy with the race technology stuff, for the price it is unbeatable. I'd of gone with DTA over Omex personally but guess thats personal preference. Do you have a data logger to use with the dash? Makes life easy if you do, you can connect it t the ECU with a CAN adapter to avoid having masses of wiring and doubling up on sensors.

Dont shot blast the mag wheels as it f**ks them up, plus mag wheels cant be powder coated hence why Im having to do it the hard way!

not bothered about data logging to be honest

Not as good brake clearance either as the material used to make them has to be thicker.

I've had a couple of sets shot blasted already with no issues, just got to be careful with the media used to blast them. Ie not mega thick iron oxide flying at them at 200bar! I heard they can't be powder coated because the magnesium gives off a gas when they are heated that can stop the coating adhering to the metal, or leave bubbles in the coating. I decided to get a set done anyway and they came out fine, finish wasn't absolutely perfect but it was plenty good enough. I think Andy's yellow set were powder coated too, and I had that set blasted before selling them too him.

I know a barn where there is some more too, but they are all a bit f**ked! Beyond useable really, hence I didn't buy them.

Just saw this and thought of you! Bargain for what it is, complete with everything you need. If there's any way of getting you're money back on what you've bought it might be a good idea!

Oh I see, I was warned not to do it and no one would do it anyway when they knew they were mag.

How many are in this barn?

are they really that bad? in what way? as long as not cracked they should be ok shouldnt they?

how much were they?

I wouldn't use them without having them x-rayed first, some had big flat spots, some were almost certainly cracked, just bashed to f**k really.

Nah, I bought all the good ones, 16 of them. Then sold the worst 4 off after having them blasted and powder coated, then sold another 4 to Andy Robinson (his yellow ones), now I have 12, 4 came with the car, and some of the Team Dynamic made from cheese ones.

it did but the roof had all gone micro blistered so that needed painting, plus this colour is better on track as it can be seen where ever it goes, loadsof red cars out there. none this colour till pete gets his out.

I love this colour aswell!
