Has anyone had a creeking noise when making gentle mmovements left and right with the steering wheel?

yup, was top mounts, I think AdamB had a stuff steering column.

I thought mine was the rubber 'seal' on the column / bulk head squeaking as I turned the wheel

quite likely to be something to do with the power steering rack maybe

Mine still does it.when it close to lock.we done top mounts, drop links, engine/gearbox mounts.

I found, and you won't believe it, this noise on mine was the track rod ends... a squirt of wd40 and it's gone!
