Not convinced about your missus' laid back driving style, pretty sure she won't be able to see where she's going, and she won't look so cool when she ploughs into something.

what thickness of wheel spacers are you using for brembos out of curiousity?

be interesting to see what you make of manifold bung, i had a de-resonated inlet a few years back and

felt it lost a bit of torque, my mate also recently fitted one and power/torque was unaffected but

induction note changed somewhat

To be honest, if I loose a bit of torque but gain a few hp up top then I will be happy.

I will run it up on the dyno and see how it pulls!

i'm keen to see what gains you get with revised management. for a long time i have believed that

theres very little to be had via remaps on these standard engines

Ok, well I will run it up on the dyno in the next few weeks, hook up the lambda and see if we can find any more power with some fuelling and spark tweaks...

Feels good to be honest, very strong mid range and just keeps revving. I know it won't make as much power up top but its still quicker than being in the next gear and having higher transmission losses.

Whenever really, mate owns a tuning shop and has a 4wd dyno dynamics dynomometer.

No drop off, pulls really hard all thhe way round to 8k tbh...

So the headgasket had gone well and truly, on all 4 cyls and the water jacket.

While it was in bits, in seemed pointless rebuilding it to a totally stock motor, so had a few mods to keep me safe with big revs, and ultimately boost, rod bolts, big end bearings:

Also while it was in bits, ditched the inlet resonator and fitted a bung:

Fitted a Rallye aux belt kit and ditched all the aircon bits and pieces:

and rebuilt:

Decided, as ultimately I'll be pushing a fair bit more power (it already flies) some better stoppers were in order....

Finally got it all finished so decided to give him a good old clean...

A huge thanks to Carl at CG Cars in Leicester for some cracking work and being a top man for taking all the pics!

Cheers for looking,

JP
