Evening all,

Just a quick one really, having never done a HPI Check before, is there a recommended site to use or do they all offer pretty much the same service?

Found the main HPI site and a single check costs £19.99, is that about right?

Or does anyone have access to this information as part of their job? Will make it worth your while. Smile

All advice appreciated, cheers.

Depends on how much you value the car I guess? I spent £3 on my HDi check and £17 on the Rallye check and got similar levels of info.

Fair point I suppose, at the end of the day £20 could save you a fortune if there was any nastiness uncovered.

Another member has offered their help, so all should be sorted. Thumbs up

I know my Rallye was reported stolen in 2003. As soon as I found out I phoned the police / insurance company to find out what their take on the situation was. Insurance said they didn't care and the police said they weren't actively seeking the car (all they could say really!).

When yippeekayay did it, his was clean. Just one of those things really.

If nothing else, good piece of mind, especially if the car is worth something!

Mine came up as having been scrapped, then I queried it with HPI and they said it was a mistake and issued me with a new passed-with-flying-colours certificate.

In today's world I wouldn't even think about buying a car without getting it checked.

I wouldn't even waste £3 on the text one

They do show insurance and police data but often do not show finance that is outstanding!!

Used to see a fair number if people at BCA who found out the hard way that we couldn't sell there car

Will be up for sale at some point, need to get the new car first.

Don't have the time or space to break it, so will be sold to whoever wants it.

Yep, hopefully an R26 if all goes to plan.

What is the scrap value these days? Was hoping for somewhere around the £800 mark.
