Ash will get this issue resolved, I'm confident of that. He does have a life outside this forum though, so patience is the key. Smile

Stop saying s**t like this! Everyone has a life outside the forum, its not a valid excuse. I'm getting anooyed at not being able to edit my posts now (which I have to do a lot due to my English). Not good enough.

Is it really annoying you that much? It's a car forum at the end of the day James, if it bothers you that much go over to pug306.net until the editing feature is resolved. Thumbs up

Is "Ash broke it and is now too busy to fix it, go use another forum" the official forum line? It's a pretty fundamental feature of the site, which leads to an increased amount of inaccurate information, yes.

Yes it does cus when I wanna correct my post I have to copy and paste my post, then correct my mistakes, then post, then delete my previous message, then I find more mistakes, so have to do it again. And then sometimes I give up purely cus it takes me ages and thats 5 hours wasted correcting one post and all I wanted to write was a LOL

So yeah it irritates me. But what irritates me more is when people say 'so and so has a life outside the forum'. Thats like me not turning up to work cus I have a life outside of work.

Its not about joining other sites.

Not really the attitude admin should be giving off is it Stan?

TBH since we've had to pay for the site it seems longer to get issues resolved than when it did whenit was free. LOL

Not only that, but editing a post?! Hardly a new feature, don't really get why that was even touched. I must say though Stan I do genuinely commend you for sticking up for the forum so much, not sure I'd still be doing so with so little support.

I'm only replying because Ash loves it when I get on these threads.

Continuing on from Owain, just cus youre admin doesnt mean you should feel like you have to stick up for the forum or Ash. Unless he is paying you?

Im not really that bothered when the forum is broken but the lack of editing is annoying me now.

Thanks Owain, it's not really a case of "sticking up" for the forum, it's more a case of trying to give something back to all the members who have been part of this community for a long time. Obviously, I can't make fundamental changes to the forum as only Ash can do that, but what I can do is to take all the feedback I receive back to Ash and see what we can collectively do about it in terms of improvements. It's not an easy task nor a quick one but I believe I'm determined enough to do all that's within my power to help keep this place going and make it an enjoyable and good place to be. Thumbs up

Well it's appreciated, I wouldn't fancy being the abuse proxy for people's problems. If you didn't bother I'm really not sure there'd be much of a site left at all by now, people like to feel they're being listened to once they're paying for something.

So keep up the good work, hopefully we can get this sorted soon.

I sure hope so mate, the Classifieds have had a revamp and updated for the better so hopefully once the editing feature is fixed people will be able to enjoy the site without too many issues.

Watch this space. Smile

Doesnt matter if it gets sorted, we will always find something to complain about, its the rules. Speed of the forum, lack of admin, people blocking threads, an N appearing, cant edit posts etc. Its all fun and games and we are all a bunch of wining sods at the end of the day.

Well I sometimes highlight things such as the mystery "N" but rarely moan. This editing problem is one that is really frustrating as I'm like soulman (but not really), I like to edit posts continuously until I'm happy. I hope it gets sorted soon before the finger comes out...

I know no one was moaning about the N but I felt I had to put more points in there.

I miss the days of moaning about lack of admin.

We are called what is known as a 'combined spiritual being' where we are different people but in the same body and exist at different times. If admin trace our posts they will see our I.P addresses are the same, and thats cus we are both typing from the same computer...

Well no, I don't think anyone complains that we have admins - the site is more organised, there are no spammy threads anymore, and people get a telling off if they over-step the mark. No-one's really complained about much in ages as I think we've all given up on getting any new features, it's just that the inability to edit posts is so fundamental to the site, and it's not exactly a new feature.

I can understand Ash not wanting to spend development time, I honestly can. I get that, each to his own. The site clearly isn't an important part of his life. Fair enough. What I don't get is that when he does have his evening a year free that he seemingly came along, broke existing functionality and has now disappeared again. I just don't get that. By all means don't add anything new, but don't break the little functionality the site already has.
