Alrite chaps,

Seem to have a proper wierd issue with the brakes on my diesel s**tbox. Sometimes when I press the pedal, the ABS goes a bit nuts (feel the kicking in the pedal) and it seems to lock the front wheels up. This seems to happen on pretty light pedal application and only seems to do it within the first couple of times the brakes are used. (if that makes sense).

After it has happened, you can brake as hard or as soft as you like with no issues.

Done it a few times over the last few days, and not had chance to check anything out yet.

Any ideas? Smile

Oh yeah sorry, I installed the 310mm brake kit on your fronts while you were asleep, they're a bit ropey when they're cold.

Get some heat into them, they'll be fine.

Had this on a Clio, found that a few teeth where missing off the abs rings, abs goes nuts cos it thinks wheels are skidding and abs comes on, after a few presses of the brake pedal it would go away and abs light would go on, check you have no teeth missing, I changed the abs rings (reluctor rings) on the Clio and the problem went away. Don't know if you can just change the rings on a 6 or they are part of the driveshafts? The Clio ones where only £8 each

Certainly does sound like an ABS ring issue, best thing to do would be to have a quick look for any obvious signs of damage/missing parts.

Yup, had similar on my XS years ago when the ABS ring on the driver's side cracked. Araldited it back in place as straight as I could as a temporary solution be and didn't have a problem.

I think that's what we love about French cars, they all go wrong at some point but when they do they fix something else! LOL
