This has been my little resto that has kept me quite the last few months ... started with a ebay bargain of £350 as a cheap second car to get me to work as wasnt aloud to take work van home ,, it didnt stay that way long as always loved these cars and have had a couple its 95% complete and is a proper animal. Its mapped with a ecu i bought which wos 210bhp with 237lbs torque but that wos in a heavy mk4 gof gti ive also added a fmic and a straight through exhaust so is pushing my power.. Went out with my mate few nights a go and left hes little clio 172 in 3rd gear also it edges my mate 250bhp seat leon cupra r which he aint happy with

Hope you all like Smile

It certainly dont hang about ... Future plans are im fitting a stronger box at weekend with longer ratios going hydro conversion as its still retaining the old rods and 8v box, also got to source bigger brakes as these are realy scary when you go to stop!! Ha .. Ive got my baby boy due next weekend so this will take a little back burner for a month or so

I payed a guy to supply and fit a engine but it turned in to a right nightmare as he wanted more money on a fixed price.. Picked car up with engine half plumbed in but lucky enough he had done the wireing realy good wire tucked all the old loom.. Seen ive got it back plumbed all engine fitted uprated fuel pump put new engine mounts on done a complete mk3 gti cable gearbox change the weekend which went realy well so got a abf mk3 16v drivetrain now nice smooth gear change and longer ratio box!!! Ive spent so much money on it its unreal Sad must near the 3k mark as had half the car resprayed as well due to rot

Love the MKII's, the ONLY Golf I'd ever consider owning.

Unfortunately, I f**king hate the 1.8T conversions. 3 of my friends have done it now and the only thing they achieve is straight line speed and lighting their tyres every time they change gear, not a fan.

Whilst out on moor roads with my Rallye, mates MKII 8v and a 280bhp MKII, there wasn't much in it when it came to it. Obviously the turbo f**ks off very quickly, but it certainly wasn't any better than the 8v in the bends.

In short, I'm bored to death by 1.8's, BUT I LOVE MKII shells, so very nice
