Well It's been about a year since i have done an update so here goes.........

I ran the car in for 600 miles or so and then fitted the swirl pot, bocsh 044 pump and sytec filter.

I did this for a reason, i didnt want to get to excited and give it a bootfull before it was run in.

So i have changed a few things since the last pics of the car.

The cam covers that i had painted silver got re painted the peugeot steel grey. Then i touched in the 16v in silver.

The slam panel got the same steel grey treatment to along with the fmic brackets.

Not the best picture

I also painted the headlight clips as they had gone rusty and put in all new shiney bolts as the o.e ones had gone rusty.

Then i set about putting something over the seat subframes as they looked s**t

I was was thinking about putting some genuine carbon on there but didnt fancy spending £60 on 2 bits of carbon. So i bought some black acrylic sheet and cut it to size.
The plan was to have a corbeau decal on the plate but i've not got round to it yet.

Then i got some mesh for the d/s fog light hole as my oil cooler sits behind it. And of course painted it peugeot steel grey.

I have also been fancying some sort of shift light. The car revs so bloody quickly, it would be handy to have something let me know before i hit the limiter while i am keeping my eyes on the road.
Didnt fancy a fast and furious thing so i opted for a innovate mtx duel boost and shift light.

I had my boost gauge in the lower console before so it needed to be moved if i wanted it to be in eye line so i decided to move the headunit down and the gauge up.

I broke out my handy tool and went eddy style

And the end result

Also fitted a black trs tow strap to as if you remember from an earlier post, i cut off my tow eye to put the oil cooler there but ended up moving it. Doh

Fitted some new matts and another genuine gearknob to just to tidy up the interior.

Then i decided to give some stuff a tidy up. Re painted the rear calipers and disc protectors.

Then someone suggested that i should colour code the petrol cap trims.
So the obvious choice was ...................

It had just started spitting with rain as i fitted them back on hence the marks in that pic.

Oh and painted the bonnet badge in steel grey.

More pics soon.

Royal purple xtr 20 50 as recommended.

Its been fine for 3.5k then when i took it to fcs it Felt under powered but thought it was the fuel.
Took it out last night after a new lambda and other bits. All was fine until it i decided to see if the boost was still ok. Hit the limiter in 3rd and only pulled 16psi. This was the first sign as its normally 19psi.

Ten mins later it started making a sound like the exhaust was rubbing on the chassis.

Checked for any obvious things but then said noise started happening on over run.

So limped home 2 miles and by the time i got home it sounded like a skeleton having a w**k in a biscuit tin.

Took the charger belt off today and started it, still the same.

Its knocking its tits off, engine fubared. Sad

Sorry to hear about this!

Are you sure it's not valve train related? That would make sense in terms of loss of boost.

Even if your bottom end was goosed, you would still see the boost.

Be interested to see what's happened Smile

From the couple of second video Ben sent me it sounded more transmission related noise / something whipping round the bell housing rather than bottom end. More of a high speed rattle than a knock or a tap. Hopefully it's something simple but he's not convinced No

It's rattling like f**k at tick over not knocking. Sounds like something whipping round to me. Could be oil pump chain but hopefully something in the bell housing has let go

Also, with the oil your using, a bottom end will only knock when warmed up. When it's cold and the oil is viscous the knocking wouldn't be that noticeable... unless it's in a very bad way, or you've smashed a piston to bits somehow.

The fact that all the plugs looked fine and when he dropped the oil out there was no metal. It was nice and clean can only be a good thing surely?
