Yeh he left it on. He was going to take it off but by the time he had insured it, mot'd and taxed it it would not be worth it.

Sooooo
Nearly a year after my last update, thought i would add some more.

After the charger conversion i decided new brakes are needed. Not a problem i thought as i had my renault brembo 330 set up but they would'nt fit under my wheels.

So after snooping about i found ross was breaking his highboost so i had the 310 renault brembo set up off him.
Spent a few months working out how to get them under my wheels, ended up filing them down a couple of mm. But before i could get them fitted...... my 5k old genuine clutch went bye bye

This was a pain in the ass for me as i really cant be assed to get the gearbox out on the drive. So i took another drive up to see carl chambers and got him to swap it over with a new valeo clutch.

BUT..................
On the way to carl's, my f**king heater matrix gave up and resulted in me having to stop 3-4 times and let the car cool down and put more water back in.

Anyways carl fixed my clutch and made a a temp matrix bypass pipe so i could venture the 80 odd miles home. Big thanks to him again.

So a friend accidentally reversed into me so a new wing was needed......

Then my central locking started playing up by unlocking itssef an hour or so after i locked it so i had the door off to look at the loom etc. Turns out it was the pins on the pass side had corroded. Quick wire brush and some gt85 and it was mint.

So i then fitted a cat 1 alarm to the car seeing as the ecu was now unlocked and i had no immobiliser etc. No pics of this im afraid.

But now am fully secure Smile

Then i changed the rear beam as mine was fooked. Again no pics of this.

More eagle eyed viewers will notice on the wing change i was not charged. Got my timeline a little wrong there.

So it was time for brakes and my god am i happy with them.
They were red so i stripped them down. Fully repainted them silver and put some new stickers on.

End result Smile

Thanks for the comments guys. Unfortunatly its not mint at the mo due to a dent in the quarter and the wings being a different shade of silver but it will be made good soon.

Jamie it was ages ago now. The engine sold.

So after returning home from pugfest, i changed the drivers wing due to a prick getting brake fluid on it while changing the brakes. Me Doh

Oh also before i went to pugfest i decided to tidy up under the bonnet. Lots of new stainless nuts and bolts etc and repaint the slam panel and intercooler brackets

Then not much happened for a while as i was in the process of moving and all the other crap that goes on in life.

Then a couple of weeks ago i started doing some more bits like a colour change on the roof lining.

More pics of this to follow as it was dark by the time i had finished.

Then the dredded job of the heater matrix came about Sad

I started doing it yesterday and the dash removal was the easy bit.

It took me the best part of 3 hours just to change the matrix. I ended up cutting the pipes to release it from the bulkhead, then changed the matrix and spent another 3 hours trying to refit the f**king thing.

Turns out you should really not remove the rubber bulkhead grommet holding the pips in place. What a c**t to refit. Even caked it in grease and it still wouldnt go in.

But i eventually got it done and its all back together now apart from actually removing the matrix bypass pipe and connecting the new matrix.

It got dark and it was raining so i decided it can wait till next weekend. It better f**king work though after all that effort.

But before it got dark i did manage to get one pic of mine and my best mates 172 cup turbo

I never want to attempt to fix the dreaded heater matrix! Think it's defo a winner without the bonnet badge mate. For me it compliments the "tidy and modified, but not too modified" look that the car has going on.

Can't believe I didn't see this at pugfest! Will defo catch you next year.
