My GTi-6 is up for sale on fleabay and it's replacement has already been bought so I just wanted to say I'll still stop by every so often but you guys have always been a fantastic help when ever I've had any problems. Thumbs up

What did I buy to replace it? An '04 reg leon Cupra (non R) with 67k on it for £2995. Already I can feel it's not quite as quick (There's really not much in it and once I remap it I should be topping 200HP) and i can certainly feel the 'dumbing down' of driver involvement over the years as it doesn't handle anything like the '6 but it's far smoother, much quieter and does way better MPG than the '6 could ever wish for. At 70mph it's doing about 1k RPM LESS than the '6 did!

Thanks for all your help over the years! Smile

Wow, Ash is really sad to see you go, he had to say it twice.

You're aware that not owning a '6 is not a good excuse for leaving though, right? Half the people on here don't own one. I'm only still here because I know Ratty wouldn't say goodbye twice if I left.

Take care and enjoy the Cupra mate, however there's no need to actually leave. Smile

They handle better than you think, you need ton chuck them although mine has uprated front bushes and apparently the standard ones are poor.

there's a good few things you can do to get more power cheaply.

Still getting used to the limits of the Cupra as it feels very remote compareed to the '6 at the moment and I'm still not confident in it. Will wait until I feel confident in the car and its limits before mapping it. Smile

They are brilliant cars, I bought my mrs a Cupra Diesel and with a remap its quicker than the gti6 up to 60mph and its one of the nicest car's I've ever driven. not to mention 55ish mpg Smile A good mod is cupra r suspension, handles brilliantly I thought.

I prefer the body styling of the 185BHP Cupra examples over the Cupra R Smile Nice car to replace it IMO!
