I've seen hundreds of modified cars similar to this with he same setup of swirl pot and fuel pump inside the car like that. Don't really see how it's any less safe as long as its all sealed. If anything it's less likely to get damage and leak inside the car really.

To be fair thats only because the MSA don't like it. My first Sunbeam rallycar had both pumps in the spare wheel well and no scruts complained, then the rules changed and now there are firewalls for firewalls!!!No

Bare carbon bonnets look chavvy IMHO, sorry but from any distance they just look like somebody bought a pattern bonnet and never got around to painting it. Frozen white is a good chouce for the rest of the car though.

Does anyone else that has a bias valve change the settings???

Every lap in the stock car you change the bias, not only front to rear but also left to right and the pressure as we run on an oval, Tarmac setup see's two front brakes and 1 inside rear where as shale see's two rears and an inside front only.

On the circuits you do adjust it depending on traffic or clear track, out breaking etc and the length of the race.

You'll have far too much to think about when you start so no huge issue but you will want them right, they have adjusters though so it doesn't do any harm by being able to reach them

Bit of an update, i decided that i wanted to take it down to bare metal to be sure that i dont have issues in the future with rust!

A few bits need doing on the front leading edges of the front wings, getting them lead loaded as well as the lock holes in the doors!

Wont be able to do much on the car for a while as iv just had an op and out of action for 6 bloody weeks!!
Hopefully the car will be undersealed, stone chipped and all in primer over the christmas holiday then its off to nur motorsport Smile

Picked up my front bumper and splitter before i had the op, pictures are crap but you get the idea!

Didn't really want to sell them, however I could do with some carbon to make new front ones as mine are a mess!
Thought u could use them as a template but as you already have some I guess u won't need them

Problem is you will more than likely have drilled your holes in a different place than me!

Not much done on the dimma for a while, Iv removed the supercharged engine and thats now in the shed waiting to be stripped down.

boot and door shuts back to bare metal

Locks and side strip holes smoothed over

I had taken the wings back to bare metal by hand on the outside but couldnt be arsed to do the insides and i knew i wouldnt be able to get into the corners etc so i went to machine mart and got myself a sandblaster.... bloody good but god does it make a mess!!

I started to clear out all the crap between the original rear quater and the dimma quater with the sandblaster, a few tiny repairs are needed however im glad im taking the effort to do this now instead of just painting it and hoping for the best!!

The plan is to get the doors and front wings in high build primer before christmas and then take the car to my mates garage (anson autos, very well known for restoring classic cars to a very high standard) over the christmas break to sort out the fuel cap (was s**t before, didnt sit flush and was uneaven all the way around it), to filler and high build the quaters and arse end.

I will then trial fit the front wings and front bumper, it will then be taken to nur motorsport for the roof to be fitted and for noel to fit the areo catch's on the bonnet and talegate.

Hopefully by that time my roll cage will be made and ready to trail fit it to the car, once thats done its time to get the complete car in primer, get the underseal and stonechip applied and then ready for some colour inside and out!

Been asked to go to afghan again in may for 3 months so im hoping to have it rebuilt and mapped by then, just a shame i will miss out on all the shows again Sad

Also been messing around with gauge locations, this is the outcome but will use a different facia as i wanted to practice on one first!

It's not a weld in cage, it's kind off a copy of my safety devices cage but the rear x will go to the beam mounts instead of the arches and will have x door bars instead of the dogleg!

I was going to have a custom cage fitted and welded in and seat bars but iv decided that I want to build it so that I have the choice of returning to standard interior one day!
That's the plan anyway lol

Bit more done on the Dimma over the last week.
Both front wings have been blasted and lead loaded where required, im really happy with the out come, they now look brand new.

My mate has been round to filler the wings (very little needed compared to how much was on them before.

The garage is now 4mm thick in sand blasting media after attacking the void between the original rear quaters and the dimma quater panels.

This is the drivers side, will put pics up of pass side later today

Its off to the body shop on tuesday so im planning on blasting the engine bay, underside (clean already as i removed all the underseal anyway but iv got a bit anal and want the complete shell as clean and paint free as i can) and if i get chance the inside of the car but im not too fussed if i dont have the time.
