that's the R2 2wd version, 180 bhp 1.6 n-a car, not the R5 4x4 280 bhp 1.6 turbo shown with Ari.

I miss driving in Corsica, the roads are bloody epic.

So is this going to have a road version? I'm not massively liking the look of it tbh.

Sort of, the R2 is a customer rally car, which is based on the road car. you can buy it from peugeot sport complete, or as with previous cars from citroen and peugeot you can buy a kit and build it yourself, you buy the bits on top of buying a donor car, sadev 5 speed sequential, Ohlins remote reservoir dampers, Alcon brakes, plus the 180 bhp 1.6 single throttle body n-a engine... .

You are fairly limited in the parts you can use as most are homologated, so you have to get it from peugeot sport to rally in r2 class.

sort of, R26R was just Renault sport building a road car, 208 R2 is a proper rally car.

done some googling, the kit is 37k euros, or a fully built turn-key rally car is 57k euros.

I have seen a few R4 class Meganes though, basically group N showroom spec, 33mm restrictor, 270 bhp 450 Nm :eek (130 Nm up on the road cars!!) Sadev 5 speed sequential, Ohlins dampers. 355mm front discs 290mm rears.

Renault also do an R2 Twuingo btw, its 20 bhp short of the 208! same kerb weight, as thats the minimum for R2 regs, ZF 5 speed sequential, remote res dampets etc etc, similar prices for the kit/turn key cars.
