hello all,

my 306 has been laid up for a couple of year now and ive decided to put it back on the road as its worthless sat there doing nothing.

anyways i dragged it out the field i left it in and there was a massive puddle in the passengers foot well. i mean it was like 5/6 inches deep! i drained it and didnt think anything of it till i pressure washed it and it started dripping from the dash board Sad we had really bad rain that night and low and behold the puddle was back!

any clues or ideas to where the waters leaking in from and how i can stop it? the heater blower isnt working either so i'm guessing its coming from around there??

any help would be good. thanks Smile

Might be the door rubber filling up and leaking in. As for the motor, does the a.c. light come on when pressed? If not its probably the green relay under the steering wheel. If it does, try the fuse. If that's okay then I'd suggest the motor itself. Smile

    Common areas of leakage:

    Sunroof
    Aerial Seal
    Door Seals

They're all i can think of.

Heater matrix leakage? Check the coolant level. If its been sat for that long with water and coolant in it can corrode

it doesnt have a sun roof so can rule that out, i'll check the door seal tomorrow. when it rains it fills up with in an hour or so. it properly drips as if all the water from the roof/windscreen is going behind the windscreen wipers and down there somewhere and into the car?

its not the heather matrix as when i dragged it out and had it up on stands for a week it filled up when it rained and i hadnt started it.

It will almost certainly leafs or moss etc under the bonnet.
Lift bonnet, see where the wiper motor is. Then go to the passenger side in that bulkhead thing and there is a drain there. When left standing they get blocked and fill up the passenger footwell very quickly.
    Thumbs up

You should not need to take anything out, should all be easy enough to get to.

Mine was just a couple of leafs with i pulled out.

I've always found more stuck behind the motor and plastic guard.
If removed then you can clean it all up to avoid future problems and rust!

Traced all the wiring back to check there's no splits or anything in the cable? And that all contacts going into the motor are clean?

I found a missing gromet on the bulkhead. Ask someone to sit in your car get the pressure washer out, and start blasting certain areas and then- expanding foam for the win.
