As some of you may now i used to own a cherry p1, handled very well indeed lowered with strut brace ect. Just got the blaze through the mot what made me happy so i thought id give it a test with an mg zs that a couple chavs wer driving, got to a nice road and goodbye runs sweet as a nut. The engine runs better than the p1 (rebuild 20k ago) but the handling isa bit rear end happy. Would lowering with just front springs and strut brace help this? Dnt want to spend out as its been cheap so far

No. It's probably the rear beam mounts getting tired. Smile

Sounds like the beam mounts, get some solid mounts on there unless you like passive rear steer, in that case new pug mounts will do the trick Smile

Id be looking at Tyres

Do you have better on the front? Pressure right in them etc?

Either that or seeing as you said just passed mot I'd say its more likely tired front suspension, they will only check for play and rebound on the test usually so won't show up if they've gone a bit soft.

I know that front suspension issues can cause the tail to feel loose. Maybe your new rear bushes are too soft. Were they pug one's? Probably front suspension or p**s poor tires. Smile

Get the pug ones. If you wanna save cash get the solids from miles. I don't know why but the rubbers are dear. Worth it though. Smile

Above you said the rear mounts are already new...

I know you said the rear is the problem but if the front is tired and the back is all tip top with new mounts etc you will have lost the balance in the car and if the back is stiffer/tighter it will make it want to lose grip before the front.

What I meant with the tyres is more brand/quality than actual wear (unless you have 4 matching tyres). If you've got something like Michelin on the front and Nankang's on the back then your car will behave like you are describing, if they are all the same and the front are significantly more worn then it could be worth swapping them around and see if it's better.
