My engine was timed over after replacing my water pump only to drive the car and realise it has lost power I mash to accelerate and the car goes nowhere. What can be causing this problem?________________________________________ RJ |

Cam timing could be off, but first is it running on all four cylinders?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I'm not sure if it is running on all four it pretty much feels like it. I am burning alot of gas. I have to mash right down on the accelerator and still the power is sluggish.________________________________________ RJ |

Sounds like the inlet cam could be retarded, do you know if was it pinned correctly when the belt was done?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I have a similar issue with my 205, I ran the engine and popped off each lead one at a time to see which cylinder wasn't running, then checked the fuel injectors to see if it was a fuel or spark problem. However, water pump replaced, my money is on the timing being out. I'd get it sorted asap, isnt great to be running your motor with the timing to cock. I've got to do my cam belt soon. Not looking forward to that one. ________________________________________ Love thy 6 |

Possibly, but due to the timing belt being removed and refitted I would check that the timing is correct first before going down the route of buying sensors. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Ok, well there's a lot LESS space on the 205 than 306 then. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

My biggest space issue is the rad having to be lowered and the bonnet bracing being chopped about in order to shut with the bodies and filter fitted ________________________________________ |

It's a Colin Satchell one. With the filter added it's right over the front bracing. Not an issue as I don't have a standard catch. But it was leaving the old filter squashed so I removed some bracing. Rad wise - It was restricting air flow and tight up against the filter pushing in on it slightly towards the top in the standard position so I lowered it below the filter line. Angle of the manifold and filter: ________________________________________ |

Nice car Dan (Jealous)Side note: since having the head rebuilt (and car re timed) the power delivery is sooooo much better, i remember welshpug mentioning that they shouldnt "kick" at 4krpm and this is know 100% true. Very smooth now and theres decent power from 2.5k ish ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

A few people have tried doing it and found positive results but no-one really has a concrete figure on what's the safe limit before destruction. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
